2026 Season Rebuild Recap
The 2026 season marked the official return of the REBUILT Gems, and what a comeback it was. The team opened the year at Milford with a statement performance: 12 straight qualification wins, a 449 event high score, and earning both the District Event Win and the Quality Award. Momentum carried straight into Troy, where the Gems arrived sharper than ever. The team shattered the event scoring record with 629 points, secured a second District Event Win, and added the prestigious Excellence in Engineering Award to an already impressive season. At the Michigan State Championship, the Gems battled among the strongest teams in the region. Their creativity and technical execution earned them the Creativity Award, a #19 ranking out of 531 FTC teams statewide, and a total of 261 district points, enough to qualify for the FIRST Championship in Houston. The 2026 season wasn’t just a rebuild. It was a resurgence, a reminder of what the Gems can achieve, and a launchpad for everything still ahead. |
